I hear a lot of times from coaches, consultants and high value service entrepreneurs that they cannot “afford to advertise” and that they don’t have “a budget for running ads in their business.”
Most of the time, these are the people that need to be advertising THE MOST!
My counter to them is to challenge their statement in order to get to the bottom of why they can’t spend on ads.
I always tell them that they cannot afford to NOT have an ad budget in their business, no matter how small it is at first.
I challenge people who “don’t have an ad budget” to go over the things they buy every day/week.
It quickly becomes obvious that most people are spending $5.00 on a coffee, $20.00 on lunch out and an untold amount of money on subscriptions, services and memberships that they never use.
An ad budget does not have to start out as a huge amount!
You can, and should be able to find something in your finances that allows you to carve out a minimal ad budget.
I recommend that people who are not currently advertising and think they don’t have an ad budget to start with $10.00 per day.
Who can’t start there?
I don’t want to be negative or harsh, but, if you can’t find 10$ per day to spend on bringing in new business, than there are some other issues going on that are independent of your business.
Anything is better then nothing at all.
Spending $10.00 a day on Facebook Ads can bring you back over ten qualified potential clients for your business if you do it correctly and target the correct audience.
You’re telling me you can’t spend $10 per day to potentially get in front of 10+ qualified clients??
An ad budget in your business is not optional.
It is a stone cold necessity right up there with having a properly formatted LLC and a payment processor.
It’s simply not something that you can, “choose not to do” or “can’t afford” in your business.
If you can’t get on board with this concept, or push back against the idea of running ads, then how are you ever going to grow a massive business?
I don’t care how good you are at getting referrals, going to networking events, working your inner circle or making sales.
If you don’t find a consistent way to turn $1 in advertising into $2 in revenue than you’re dead in the water.
Now, I know I’ll get some heat for saying that, and I’ll get an email from someone who, “grew a million dollar business without advertising” but, if this is true, it is a very very rare example.
Building a huge business without advertising is an outlier, especially if you are a coach, consultant or high value service entrepreneur.
Most businesses fail because they do not have a consistent and duplicatable way to bring in new clients.
You can avoid this massive business problem by accepting that you must advertise in your business, no matter how small the budget is to start!
Summary: Advertising in your business every single day is not optional.
- Launch your first ad campaign for your business even if it’s only $10 per day.
- Monitor, test and improve your campaign until it produces high quality leads and phone calls for your business.
- Once your campaign has a proven ROI, scale your campaign and grow from there.
- Enjoy the benefits of your ideal clients coming to you, instead of you chasing them.
- Keep scaling until your business revenue is what you’re looking for.
